Water applied to the top level windows ...
...shows up at the top of the windows below. One of three types of leaks we will illustrate.
The window company contracted window water tester taking pictures of the water appearing on the inside of the house after water application to the window above it.
Repeated at other windows.
What surprised most about this inspection was how little water applied to the window exterior it actually took to cause passage through to the home interior.
Remember this picture (right) showing just how little volume and force of water that was applied.
Compare that water flow from the inspector's hose in this picture to even a moderate rain fall. Then add wind and temperature changes of expansion and contraction. If a small amount of water can generate a window leak it is the reasonable person's view that rainfall will create more leakage.
