The duration of water applied to the house side with the tapped off windows exceeded 30 minutes and did not stop until the home inspector and homeowner both agreed the volume of water applied was more than enough to have caused a leak. That comparison was to the homeowner's recurring observations of past rain water infiltration.
Take note in the next two pictures the full force of the water pressure was applied to the window J-channel.
All four sides of the siding to window joining received the full force of the water pressure and volume on windows that showed interior water damage.
As a inspector bias attenuation a second person applied water to the windows and house siding.
At no time during this part of the test did there show any interior water infiltration.
