Window Leaks and Damage
Window Leak #3
The third window leak we can document in pictures is the one that tracks to the house interior wall.
This is the rain water leak that passes through the upper house windows. It is the water that passes through the panel window gaps created between the bellowing glass and the 3m seal at the enlarged panel frames. This same leak occurs in the lower panel windows but is masked by the other water flowing down from the Hurd windows above it as well as by the water penetrating the top panel gap of the lower windows.

The picture above is in the section of the house with no second level ceiling. The picture below is the portion of the house where the upper and lower windows are separated by a second level floor.

Take note there is sufficient water penetration through the upper window to pass through the second level floor down to the lower level window. The water tracks on the sheet rock wall clearly visible as is its continuation over the top of the lower window trim and under the lower window top sill.

The three pictures above are of three different windows, all of which are the component panel window design, in three different house locations showing the same type of leak. None of the other Eagle brand, half round or casement windows in this house showed any rain water penetration.
